Session 11 : reflection

Presentation is very important for teachers as we present knowledge to students every day. Using new and diversified presentation tool keep students’ attention and motivation to learn. In this session, we have tried different tools online to help in presentation.

The first tool is Powtoon, which is actually a combination of the words “PowerPoint’ and “Cartoon”. The sample by Professor Sze is the slide show that he showed us on the very first day of the course which interested me at the beginning. The cartoon is cute, colourful and eye-catching. There are also various pre-set animations and templates for you to choose. Here is a SlideShare introducing how to use Powtoon.

Then we had a taste in Adobe Spark and Wix to make a webpage. With the pre-set format and template, we can easily post what we want to share on the web. These tools really help a lot when some teachers need to make a webpage for their class. Teacher can also put useful teaching resources onto the webpage for students to do. For example, some pre-lesson tasks can be given for them to do at home before lessons. I have tried to make a Padlet wall for the next unit. It is about what students want to be when they grow up. I have added some pictures, songs, the link of games and even Powerpoint slides and worksheets for the lesson. I hope my students will find that amazing and useful.

The last thing we did in the lesson is using Prezi to do a presentation. I have found a Prezi about teaching how to use a Prezi. It is good to learn how to use it and get to know how wonderful this presentation tool is, isn't it?
