In the last session, we have tried out GoFormative, which is an interactive response system designed to help classroom teaching. It is a very handy tool that enables us to simply upload and transform any pdf or word documents into an online assessment. More content like pictures or youtube videos can be added easily. The best part of it is that we can keep track of students’ progress real-time and provide instant comments, feedbacks, or even grades, which is particular useful for in-class assessment. Being able to closely monitor students’ work, we can determine the level of the students and decide whether we should make further explanation on a particular topic. Such understanding gives insight to teachers on how to adjust the method and pace of teaching, which will definitely improve the effectiveness of teaching.
Time slipped by in the blink of an eye! Can’t imagine the last session of the course came so soon! First for all, thanks a million for Paul’s teaching throughout the course. So lucky to have the chance to attend your course and learn from you again. I am sure all of us have learnt a lot in the past three months and all of the resources and tools that were introduced would really help us in teaching.
Personally, I have tried out many tools that I have learnt here with my kids and I am really amazed by the positive responses from students to the use of e-learning in class. I really look forward to exploring more possibilities of using IT in lessons. Happy e-teaching!
